Random Number Generator

Generate whole numbers within an inclusive lower and upper limit. Each draw uses browser cryptographic randomness, and the same number may appear more than once.

Using the Random Number Generator

Set the range and the count of numbers you want. If you need a single random choice from numbered options, request one value and map it to your numbered list.

Worked example

The settings below define the allowed range and number of draws. Each calculation generates a new sample, so there is no single numerical answer to reproduce.

Example inputs

Maximum

Example result

Expected behavior
Values fall within the selected inclusive range. Repeated values are allowed.

Method and assumptions

Uses browser cryptographic randomness and rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias.

Understand what a random result means

A random generator does not try to make a short sequence look evenly balanced. Repeats and uneven patterns can occur naturally, and the next result is not forced to compensate for earlier ones. The chosen range or character set defines possible outcomes; it does not predict the particular outcome you will receive.

Common question

Can I reproduce a previous set with a seed?

No. This generator does not expose a seed or store previous draws. Use a deliberately seeded generator when reproducibility is part of an experiment or test.
