Using the NPS Corpus & Annuity Scenario Calculator

Start with your existing corpus and regular contribution. Try different return and contribution-increase assumptions, then compare the annuity allocation and payout rate separately: a larger purchase amount and a better quoted annuity rate have different effects.

Method and assumptions

End-of-month deposits; nominal annual return divided by 12; annual contribution increase from year two. Annuity amount = corpus × supplied allocation; monthly payout = annuity amount × supplied payout rate / 12. These are scenarios, not eligibility or withdrawal-rule advice. Exit requirements depend on sector, corpus, exit type and prevailing PFRDA rules. No claim of tax-free lump sum; taxes/fees and annuity product guarantees are excluded.

Use consistent assumptions over time

A retirement projection depends on when contributions or withdrawals happen, the rate used and the number of periods. Keep those assumptions visible when comparing scenarios. An amount expressed in future currency is not automatically equivalent to the same amount of purchasing power today. Tax treatment and account rules should be checked separately wherever the model does not include them.

Common question

Is the monthly pension an annuity quote?

No. It is the selected purchase amount multiplied by a user-entered annual payout rate and divided by twelve. Actual provider quotes depend on age, product options and market conditions, and the calculator does not determine exit eligibility or tax treatment.
