Using the EPF / PF Growth Calculator
Use the PF-eligible salary shown by payroll, not take-home pay or full CTC. Select whether contributions use the full eligible wage or the statutory wage ceiling, and confirm whether EPS allocation applies to you.

Method and assumptions
Illustrative constant rate of 8.25%, matching the FY2025–26 CBT recommendation (not a guaranteed future rate). EPS allocation is rounded 8.33% of pensionable salary capped at ₹15,000, not a pension corpus earning EPF interest. Monthly credits earn interest from the following month; annual interest rounded to rupees. Starts at a financial-year boundary. Excludes withdrawals, higher-pension elections, EDLI, administration fees and tax on interest. Confirm your actual PF wage base.

Separate contributions from growth
An ending balance can grow because you put more money in, because the assumed return is higher, or because the money has more time to compound. Those are different effects. Keep the contribution schedule consistent when comparing rates, and distinguish a mathematical projection from a return that is contractually guaranteed. Fees and taxes need their own assumptions.
Common question
Does every rupee of the employer contribution enter EPF?
No. For an EPS-eligible member, part of the employer contribution is diverted to the pension scheme. This tool separates that amount before projecting EPF interest. Higher-pension cases and employer-specific arrangements need a separate review.
